Everything grew this season! Some veggies grew too much. We couldn't eat all the lettuce so we pulled it and replanted.

Got The Drip
Got the drip system up and working well!
Using a sprinkler head which we addeda T bar to with 1/2 inch poly tubing then 1/4 drip lines from that. It's working good so far. No blight this year!

This Season
Retaining wall is in place
Lets get it on!
A big issue in lasts years garden was that because it is on a slight slope, all the beautiful dirt I put in slid down and not much grew up top. The water didn't stick either. So....we installed a retaining wall. We also fixed our watering issue. The sprinkler head that was in the garden was converted into a drip system. No more fungus growing on the leaves due to watering from above! I feel more positive about actually growing everything we plant this year.
In our 30x10 space this years crops hope to include:
Peas
Beans
Turnip
Carrot
Cucumber
Tomato
Onion
Zukes
Squash
Various lettuce
Collards
Chamomile
Pumpkin
Watermelon
Cantaloupe
In a container i will try strawberries and I may try to plant basil, thyme, chives and oregano in a smaller planter towards the back of the yard.
I know this seems like a lot, but last year nothing lived long enough to produce. We did have plenty of tomatoes, zuke and squash though. If I could plant more, I would!!

I AM SPARTAN! Rawr
I've been training for this since December. Actually the Tough Mudder but I decided to do the Spartan Race instead because I wasn't ready for 10 miles, mud and obstacles. I finished this race in 2:02. It was hard, mainly because it was only 45 degrees, windy and jumping into water made it worse. I am proud but am gonna hold off on doing any more mud runs for awhile. They always seem to be too far from home which means an hour and a half cold, wet muddy ride home. Next: 5K's and maybe The Bolder Boulder....

...and there's strawberries
It's no secret to those around me that I love TED. Great ideas and even some I don't agree with are there. Today, I found this little nugget of inspiration featuring Ron Finley. I consider myself a novice gardener, this season will only be my second. I have witnessed the positive effects gardening not only has on me, but my family. I do believe everyone should and can garden. I even had my youngest brother telling me the other day that he wants to garden, but has limited space. I told him he could container garden and would still reap the benefits of veggie bliss. Like Finley stated, "go be a gangsta gardener." Oh, I will!

Arrested Development
This is 31. I am 31. Sometimes I forget that I am 31, and still think I'm 30. Purely accidental. I'll be 32 in September, wow. I don't feel like I should be this old already, but I am and that's OK. I have good things in my life that keep me happy and content. If I didn't I probably feel worn. Reflecting on my 20's, I feel like I wasted time not doing anything to be a better person. So I'm actually 21, because that's when you get a college education, plan for kids, a house and stable financial future. I'm a little slow, no I just did everything backwards. It's all just coming together now and I still have time. There's still time to have a career, raise my kids, get married and make a retirement plan. I'm a work in progress and there's progress which is great.
Bring on 22!
Bring on 22!
Mexican Stand Off
(sorry for the run-on)
Mexican Stand-Off
In a world best described as unwittingly blind I held my head up strong not to be trifled or trampled upon then across came a man he stood with such candor unflinching broad shoulders we met at a pass and neither would bow to be so gracious that would be atrocious so we kept bumping heads like two silly goats stranded on a mountain top high it was a Mexican stand off this allegory tells of a love forlorn of two lovers squabble how neither was wrong nor could let their guard down oh just to see how magical it could be if the other said you're right, I'm wrong live in undying bliss if it didn't go amiss an amicable way not be headstrong everyday just to get your way and stubborn prideful listless sentiments spilled onto the floor a Mexican stand off is what I'm in
